Since the financial crisis of 2007/2008 there has been much debate about the role of central banks and the role of market forces. This documentary shows the case of the Japanese central bank being used to facilitate central planning and direct the economy in a certain direction. Markets are not always optimal but this is certainly not the way you want to manage a modern economy.
